The “Iranian” attacks on Oil Transport Ships were probably a False-Flag-Operation of the CIA maybe with the help of Saudi and/or Israeli Secret Service to create a Casus Belli.
Iran had no motive to do it and the proofs for it are ridiculous and obvisouly faked and look like the proofs of the existence of the Monster of Lech Ness.
The Islamic Republic of Iran is a totalitarian State which supports Islamic Terrorist Groups and the overthrown would be a good thing, especially for Iranian People but the Interventionists like Pompeo and Bolton are primary interested in Hegemony. Human Rights are not the reason and a good example is the cooperation of US under Bush senior and Bill Clinton with the same Regime during the Bosnian War to support the Islamist government of Bosnia with wrangling Mujaheddin from different islamic countries in to Bosnia.
